The Olympic View: A look at what's new with the Olympic Team

Did you know?

September is Drug-Free Pain Management Awareness Month — and it’s an important reminder that there are safe, natural ways to find relief from pain. For many older adults, prescription opioids are often given for back, hip, knee, or nerve pain. But did you know?

  • Opioid misuse is one of the leading health concerns in America today.
  • These medications carry risks such as dependency, falls, and dangerous side effects — especially as we age.
  • The truth is, most people turn to opioids for pain relief, yet safer options are available.

That’s where the comprehensive care at Olympic comes in. We specialize in relieving spine, joint, and nerve pain without the need for drugs or surgery. Our focus is on helping you move easier, reduce discomfort, and enjoy the activities that make life fulfilling — whether that’s gardening, traveling, or keeping up with the grandkids. If you or someone you love has been relying on medication for pain, know that there are natural, effective approaches to help you stay active and independent. We’re here to walk that path with you.

“After the surgery medication made the pain bearable. Now, I’m off prescription drugs and I feel calmer, less anxious, less irritable, and able to enjoy life again!”

I had a fall that resulted in an injury that required emergency surgery on my neck. Before the surgery I had partial arm and hand paralysis. After the surgery I had pain that was 8-9/10. With medication the pain levelwas about 4-5/10. Now, I am off all prescription medications. I feel calmer, less anxious, less irritable and I’m able to enjoy life again! After six visits at Olympic, my pain reduced considerably, and by the ninth visit, I was able to stop using gabapentin! I was feeling down due to the limitations of my injury and wasn’t satisfied with my new normal. Because I have less pain and I’m able to do more, I was able to find a new job that is better overall. I can do more with my friends and my family. I’m back to coaching my son’s soccer team and traveling with my family. The staff at Olympic are the BEST hands down! I’ve never been in an office where everyone seems genuinely happy and passionate about what they do for a patient. Dr. Shelley is great, but the entire team working as they do is the real secret! I think the innovative approach with cutting edge treatments, coupled with the holistic approach of treatment is what made the difference to help me heal faster.

Team Member of the Month:
Dr. Everett

Here’s some of the things our team has to say about Dr. Everett!

  • For being a dope doc and great coworker!
  • Because she has had to keep moving/ trainings!

We will miss you, Dr. Everett! Thank you for everything you’ve done to give our patients the great care they deserve.

Team Adventure at High Trek!

Our team recently traded our clinic shoes (or Croc’s for some) for harnesses and helmets at High Trek Adventures in Everett. From rope courses to zip lines, it was a day filled with laughs, teamwork, and a few brave leaps of faith!

Experiences like these bring us closer together, so we can bring that same energy and connection back to serving you in the clinic.
