After the first two weeks of treating with OSST my level of pain was noticeably less

I’ve had serious, work stopping pain across my lower back. This would come on quickly after standing, gardening, or walking. This seriously limited my enjoyment of anything except reading in the “right chair”. This condition had been bothering me for over twenty years. I had tried medications, injections, acupuncture… and the list goes on. Nothing was working, even if I did get relief it didn’t last very long. After the first two weeks of treating with OSST my level of pain was noticeably less, but more important, I could engage in activities for longer periods of time. This was a miracle to me! I haven’t had any sickness, including allergies, since beginning treatment. Overall I feel stronger, more ready to do housework, and go for walks. I have more energy, and was even told that this shows.

I feel younger, and I am able to do more with friends!

Over the years I have struggled with sciatica in my legs, pain in my left hip, low back, neck and shoulder. My back used to get so stiff I couldn’t move very easily and I had difficulty sleeping. Now, after going through treatment at OSST my pain is reduced and I have more flexibility. I can do computer work without my neck stiffening up and I am able to spend more time in the garden without hurting my low back. I feel younger, and I am able to do more with friends! The staff at OSST are great people. They provide the tools you need to help yourself and then create a very encouraging atmosphere that motivates you to use them!

The staff at Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy is wonderful!

Three days after my car accident I started feeling pain in my neck and low back. By the end of the first week I was almost in tears and had to leave work. My left arm ached with spasms and my neck was so sore I could hardly move it. I tried several medications, ranging from hydrocodone to ibuprofen – and nothing seemed to relieve the pain. Thankfully, I had been a patient of Dr. Shelley’s in the past and went straight to his clinic for evaluation. He suspected I had a herniated disc, so he sent me for an MRI. The MRI confirmed his findings, so he suggested decompression therapy. He was spot on. Each treatment brought more relief and restored more of my overall quality of life. I feel like I now have my life back! The combination of adjustments, decompression therapy and cold laser treatment has me doing everything I could do before the accident, and more! My arm no longer aches and computer work is no longer painful for my neck. After the accident I could only play my saxophone for 10-15 minutes before too much pain took over, now I can play for as long as I want. The staff at Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy is wonderful! They are consistently professional, kind and supportive. They are a great team and I am grateful to have them working with me. I couldn’t be more pleased, thank you Dr. Shelley and Team OSST

After the first week of treatment I began to feel better

I first noticed I had pain on the right side of my low back and hip when I had a cold. Every time I would cough I had pain in my low back.  Then one day I was lifting a box I turned sideways and felt a sharp excruciating pain in my back.  The pain was uncontrollable for 2 days and nights; I couldn’t even sleep.  I found out about Olympic Spine and Sports Therapy from my General Medical Doctor.  After the first week of treatment I began to feel better.  The sharp pain has gone away.  I sit up straight and can sleep through the night.  I get up and down on my own which means I don’t need help bathing or using the restroom any longer.  I move around the house without help, I’m even able to do some vacuuming.  I go out to dinner, and I do cooking again.  I can’t say enough about the staff at Olympic Spine, everyone is polite, positive and helpful.  I’ve noticed they are that way with everyone.  I’ve been adjusted before by other Chiropractors, however, at Olympic Spine there are more treatments including spinal decompression therapy, high dose laser therapy and physical rehab therapy.   I intend to continue my treatment.  I truly believe that by continuing it will prevent sever attacks in the future.

Without the help of Olympic Spine I would not have the quality of life I am now enjoying

In early May 2015, I had joined a softball team, planned on summiting Mount Rainer, completing numerous hikes, and half dozen themed 5k events during my summer.  But then, after an exhausting doubleheader and helping a friend move a piano, I was helping my mom transplant some tulips, when I bent over and felt an explosion of pain in my lower back.  Not thinking anything of it, because I experienced this the year before while commercial fishing in Alaska, I attempted to just walk it off.  As I was starting to feel a little better, I tried to lift an entire stack of plywood at work and the pain was back.  The next few days became very concerning; my hamstring, calf muscle, and the bottom of my foot in my left leg started to go numb.  The muscles convulsed and a shooting pain from my buttocks and through my entire leg carried on for a couple weeks.  When I could not bear the pain any longer I looked for help.  Thankfully, I found Olympic Spine where I decided to undergo decompression treatment.  The process of therapy was a commitment but I will never regret it.  After two months of extreme pain, numbness, and feeling helpless I began to feel hopeful for my recovery.  The staff at Olympic Spine was so helpful and full of energy.  I always looked forward to going to treatment and was always willing to do whatever they asked in order to get better.  They help my hand through a grueling recovery process until I completed my treatment.  Now I am running, hiking, swimming, golfing, and playing ball just as I had hoped.  I do believe that without the help of Olympic Spine I would not have the quality of life I am now enjoying before the end of summer.  Thanks Olympic Spine!

No more walker or wheelchair!

I was suffering from debilitating pain in my thigh, sciatic area and my low back for over 8 months and it left me unable to walk without assistance. It was very frustrating, because I had to use a wheelchair at church and a walker everywhere else.  I tried various medications, physical therapy, and even chiropractors, without any relief. A friend of mine referred me to Olympic Spine after her husband had found relief here. It took me about 4 weeks of treatment to start to see long-lasting results. Now, after completing my treatment, I no longer have severe pain or a roller coaster of pain throughout my day. I no longer have to use a walker or wheel chair at church. I walk freely on my own and can participate more fully in leading worship on Sundays, as well as being able to make home and hospital calls again. When I was in pain, I had to give up many of my social activities, but now I can drive to Portland to see my grandsons and not feel pain. Also, I am finally able to have fun with my friends, instead of depending on them to come and help me with daily activities.  I feel like my energy is higher and my spirit is brighter. Olympic Spine has given my life back to me, and I am deeply grateful.

Success after three spine surgeries and 30 years of narcotics

In 1997 I had a back injury at work. For a year I took medication and had steroid injections. When I had surgery in 1998 the doctor told me it was likely I would need another surgery. For the next 10 years I was able to work as long as I didn’t do too much. I continued to take pain medication and get injections. When the pain became unbearable in 2008 I had my second back surgery. It helped for a while, but I had to continue getting injections and taking narcotics. I had my third back surgery in 2014. I still had a lot of pain after it. They said it was because I had a lot of scar tissue from the previous surgeries, and there wasn’t anything more they could do. They sent me for pain management. I was living with constant pain and serious depression. I contemplated ending it all many times. I couldn’t even start a lawnmower. I would work in the yard for an hour and then have to rest. I wasn’t able to sit or walk even for short distances. I was surviving on heavy narcotics and muscle relaxers. My wife was very concerned. She said I would have mood swings; sometimes I would be nice other times I would be mean. She told me about things I did, that I had no memory of having done. I was willing to try anything to relieve the pain.

Luckily, my wife found an ad for Olympic Spine and Sport. After performing an examination, Dr. Shelley said he thought he could help me. I received many different therapies including spinal decompression, adjustments, laser, traction and physical rehabilitation. The treatments changed my life! I lived with pain for 30 years and now I’m off all pain medication and muscle relaxers. I still have occasional pain, but it’s nothing like the debilitating pain that I lived with for years. I’m able to walk my dog, play with my grandchildren, enjoy time with my wife and work on my 65 Corvette. The staff is excellent. Not only have they helped me get free of pain and drugs but they taught me what I need to do to maintain my improvement.

Help for chronic headaches, neck pain and shoulder pain “the one stop shop”

About a year ago I was having chronic headaches, neck pain and pain in my right shoulder, the pain was so bad that I was unable to sleep on my back or my right side.  I just tossed and turned all night long.  I saw five other doctors including two neuro surgeons that said eventually I would need surgery on my shoulder; however, they would not operate until two of my tendons were completely torn.    I was expected to live with chronic pain and decreased use of my arm. One doctor suggested shots to heal my nerve pain.  I felt surgery was too invasive; I was at a dead end. I heard about Olympic Spine and Sports Therapy on the radio, it sounded like they did things differently.  Within two weeks of treatment I felt better.  My neck pain was less intense I had better range of motion and the radiating pain in my right shoulder was better.  My attitude is better, I have a more positive outlook at work and I’m not stressed out at work any longer.  Now that I’m not in pain I’m able to vacuum using both hands, garden, play my drums and ride my dirt bike! My friends and family say I used to be grumpy and now I have a pleasant attitude. The staff at Olympic Spine and Sports Therapy is very friendly, helpful and everybody is concerned about their patient’s wellbeing and health.  The treatment is cutting edge and different from other chiropractors I’ve gone to.  I had laser therapy, non-surgical decompression, adjustments and physical rehab therapy.  I call it the “one stop shop” that works on the whole body.  I’m glad I invested the time and money, the results are worth it!

This Place Is Amazing! It has absolutely changed my life!

I had what I called “back attacks” twice a year that would send me to the hospital and they sent me home with pain killers.  In 2012 I had a “back attack” that kept me out of work for one month.  Finally I was diagnosed with spondylolisthesis, herniated discs and stenosis.  It was four months before I could go back to an eight hour work day.  I’ve tried other treatments including physical therapy.  I did all the exercises that were prescribed yet I still was in pain. I also tried other chiropractors.  Every day my back was on fire, I learned to cope with the pain which made me cranky and depressed. Because of the constant pressure from stenosis by the end of the day I was completely beat down by the pain. I recently got in a car accident that exacerbated my pain.   I came to Olympic Spine and Sports Therapy and I started to feel relief after my very first decompression treatment.  I don’t think about my pain all the time now.  My posture has improved.  I can do laundry all day and not be wiped out.  Before I would do one load and then I was down for the rest of the day.  I’m looking forward to riding my bike again this spring.  I’m thinking about doing yard work, I thought that I was done with that before my treatment at Olympic Spine and Sports Therapy.  I was out of town for a week and a half and I felt like I had not seen my family while I was away.  I feel like everyone cares here.  The doctors take the time to figure out where the issues are each day; they don’t just provide the same treatment for everyone.  This place is amazing! It has absolutely changed my life! If I could convince just one person to come in and get relief it would be worth it!

Jack was told nothing could be done other than medication for his neuropathy

For the past couple of years I have had numbness in my feet and legs, plus tingling in my hands that was progressively getting worse.  The worst symptom was when my entire feet were numb.  It felt like my socks were bunched up under me.  I saw a Neurologist who told me that my symptoms would only get worse and that nothing could be done beyond medication.  The medication had too many side effects so I decided not to take it.  I saw an ad in the paper for Olympic Spine and Sports Therapy.  Within a couple of weeks I noticed 60-65% improvement in my numbness, now I’m over 80% better.   My balance has also improved.  I’ve been able to do squats on a bosu ball!  Most importantly I’m able to help care for my handicapped wife.  The staff at Olympic Spine and Sports Therapy is very helpful and professional.  The office is well run; I’ve had a great experience.

I can walk without discomfort now and I even went dancing!

When I started I had numbness in my big toes and tingling in my legs on both sides. It bothered me most when I walked, it was really irritating! A friend, John recommended I come to Olympic Spine and Sport Therapy. Right from the beginning it just started to gradually feel better. The numbness and tingling is a lot less intense now. There is no numbness in my big toes. I can walk without discomfort now and I even went dancing! The staff are helpful and caring. I even brought them goodies at Christmas!

Peripheral neuropathy 75% improved!

Before treating at Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy, I was having a lot of numbness and tingling in my feet and hands. They had a cold sensation and they felt like stumps when I tried to play golf and racquetball. My coordination and balance deteriorated to the point where I quit playing and just sat at home in my chair, depressed and discouraged. I started to lose sleep due to nerve spikes I would get in my feet, I felt like I was being stabbed with an ice pick! I saw a neurologist who said I had Peripheral Neuropathy due to my Diabetes and he prescribed me medication but it didn’t help me very much. I learned about Dr Shelley and Olympic Spine and Sports Therapy on line, and started treatment shortly after. It took about 6 weeks before I saw significant results but it worked! Now I’ve reached 75% overall improvement in my condition! I am walking and standing for longer periods of time, doing yard work without pain or fatigue, and I have even started playing golf and racquetball again. The staff is outstanding! They really take a personal interest in me, my treatment and my life. If your symptoms are anything like mine were, you need to get in here!

Relief for disc herniation, scoliosis and degenerative arthritis

I have suffered from degenerative arthritis in my lumbar spine for nearly twenty years, plus I have scoliosis and a herniated disc.  Four years ago I met with a neuro surgeon who advised that I have surgery.  The surgery was scheduled, however after further investigation I decided against it and resigned myself to live with the pain.  Then a year ago the clenching pain became so intense it radiated from my hip down my leg to my toes.  I found it difficult to work, sit, sleep or drive.  One of my friends recommended Dr. Shelley; she told me her husband had tremendous success at Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy.  My progress was slow at first, but now I’m hugely improved!  Now that I’m no longer focused on my pain my quality of life has improved greatly.  I can do housework. Since I’ m not tired out from pain I actually want to go out with friends.  I’m back to walking, I was even able to complete a five mile hike last summer!  I can sit without squirming in my chair which allows me to focus more on my clients.  I also learned how to work smarter using better body mechanics.  The staff is wonderful!  They’re upbeat, cheerful, fun and very supportive.  A couple of times I was in so much pain I came to the office in tears, they were encouraging, understanding and very caring.

The HEADACHES HAVE STOPPED!

Before I began seeing Dr. Shelley in 1991, I had been getting a headache nearly every day. Dr. Shelley took x-rays of my back and showed me that my spine had a lateral curvature that shouldn’t be there. After about six months, a new series of x-rays showed that my spine had lost most of its excess curvature, and the frequency of my headaches had dropped to nearly a zero. Since that time, Dr. Shelley has been seeing me about three times a month to maintain the health of my spine. Recently, however, my headaches began recurring, and x-rays showed that my spine had drifted away from its optimum shape. We decided to step up the treatment with a program of exercise, adjustment, and traction. I’m happy to report the success of this treatment, as I have had only one headache in the past two months.

Neck Pain REDUCED BY 80%!

It had been a long time since I rock and rolled and my wife’s company was having a party at the Experience Music Project in Seattle. I danced the night away like I was thirty years younger. Two days later I could hardly move my neck. I started taking over-the-counter pain relievers which would allow me about two hours of sleep and then I would wake up and have to take more. I am a landscaper so the pain was severely restricting me in my work; it got so bad that it hurt just to shut my truck door. Since receiving decompression therapy, my neck pain has reduced by 80%! The “rice crispies” in my neck are also going away. It feels great to have my life back!

I’m Able to DO MORE ACTIVITIES, SLEEP BETTER & FATIGUE HAS GONE DOWN!

For several years I had been experiencing low back pain, neck pain, and weakness in my right arm and shoulder. My sister was undergoing decompression therapy through OSST and she suggested that I come in and get checked out. After treatment at OSST I feel much better overall, my low back pain is much more tolerable and adjusting my neck has helped my allergies. I am able to do more activities, sleep better, and my fatigue has gone down. Since I don’t feel so stiff, chores are much easier to do, and since my allergies are reduced I can breathe better. I’ve had a couple of friends lately asking me if I am taller! I attribute that to standing up straighter! Overall I’ve had a great experience at OSST and the staff are very friendly, upbeat, and encouraging.
