Healing at the Speed of Light!
The effects of light on cellular function have been known since 1880, however, the health benefits of laser energy were only discovered in 1967. Since it’s FDA approval in 2001, noninvasive laser therapy has quickly gained popularity around the world. At Olympic Spine and Sound Pain Solutions we have used laser therapy for decades. As technology has advanced, we have updated our equipment to provide the most effective laser therapy available.
Erchonia is the manufacture of our FX 405 and GVL laser machines. Erchonia is the clear leader in research on non-thermal laser. They hold 22 of the 24 FDA clearances for noninvasive laser therapy. Not only are they cleared for safety, they are approved for being effective for treating numerous conditions such as low back pain, chronic neck and shoulder pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and plantar fasciitis. In general, noninvasive laser works by providing energy to the mitochondria of the cell. Cells can absorb certain wavelengths of light, much like plants can absorb sunlight and convert it into energy for growth. Higher levels of cellular energy(ATP) can result in faster healing, and greater symptom relief.

More About Laser Therapy
How Does High-Dose Laser Therapy Work?
Clinical studies and research using laser therapy have demonstrated reduced pain and inflammation as well as stimulating nerve regeneration, muscle relaxation, and improved immune system response.
Our body can benefit from absorbing certain frequencies and wavelengths of light similar to the way plants benefit from sunlight and use it to grow.
Our bodies absorb near-infrared light and convert it into ATP. When we are exposed to laser light at the appropriate wavelength and frequency, we produce ATP. ATP is the “energy currency” of the cell, so higher levels lead to an increase in cellular health and an increased rate of repair.
High-dose laser therapy is a powerful weapon in our arsenal to combat neuropathy and rehabilitate the nerve endings.
- Bio-stimulation
- Improved metabolism
- Increase of cell metabolism
- Improved blood circulation and vasodilation
- Analgesic effect
- Anti-inflammatory and anti-edematous effects
- Stimulation of wound healing
How Does High-Dose Laser Therapy Benefit Users?
- Relieves acute and chronic pain
- Increases the speed, quality and tensile strength of tissue repair
- Increases blood supply
- Stimulates the immune system
- Stimulates nerve function
- Develops collagen and muscle tissue
- Helps generate new and healthy cells and tissue
- Promotes faster wound healing and clot formation
- Reduces inflammation
Studies for soft tissue injuries (muscle, ligament and joint) show that patients who receive laser therapy in addition to other treatments demonstrate a 40-50 percent faster rate of repair and greater strength of the injured area when treatment is completed. High-dose laser therapy is a safe and effective modality that complements the physical medicine procedures used at Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy. The evidence is compelling. High-dose laser therapy is destined to play an important role in the future of health care.
