What Is Causing Your Back Pain?

April 30, 2018

Mark Shelley

Oh the dreaded and common back pain. As we go through our tasks and chores in our everyday routines, we could be causing the back pain that plagues our bodies. With as many things that can cause back pain, it’s hard to accept full responsibility for the health of our spine and back.

While many other elements can be causing your back pain, it’s important that you take a proactive role in making sure your back doesn’t suffer anymore pain, as well as prevent further injury. Back pain can quickly go from bad, to worse, to surgery, so it’s important that you know what the potential causes could be, so you can help combat this issue.

Here’s what could be bothering your back.

  • Your Desk Job – Working at a desk for eight hours of every day can take it’s toll on your shoulders. As you slouch at your desk, you pull your shoulders up and forward, causing tension in your shoulders.

  • Not lifting Correctly – Anyone that works in a labor position knows how important proper lifting technique is. Not doing the proper movements can result in injury that might lead to surgery.
  • Improper Exercise Technique – While you might feel like you’re doing well for yourself because you’re exercising, it’s important that you understand that bad technique is quite the opposite of healthy. Lifting too much weight, or improper form can lead to serious injury.

These are just a few potential causes for your neck and low back pain. If you’re experiencing discomfort from back pain, or have had a previous surgery that is bothering you, talk to a Olympic Sport and Spine about a series of physical therapy and chiropractic adjustments!
